I've got a several yr old road shark, all zero uno, and am planning to be refitted for a new bike following a back injury. I've been eying the carbon stay option vs the carbon rear triangle option. Have read on some boards that it's just hype or marketing while Garrett Lai on bicycletest.com wrote an opinion piece that carbon rear triangles are good companions for carbon front forks in that they transmit a similar roadfeel for a more harmonius feel. I'm on the fence but wondered if others had ridden sharks with steel rear triangles and the carbon options. OB

I would think the bike setup/geo would play a bigger role in regards to your back. I haven't felt a big difference with carbon rear ends on steel frame, though my experience is limited.

After coming across this carbon seat stay thread in the Bicycling mag site: http://forums.bicycling.com/bic/viewThread.jsp?thread=71625&forum=6#809818
I'm thinking I'll stick with good old steel on my next ride. Seems to agree with your observations.
