I've had my beautiful Tetra with fade option for three weeks and I am dismayed at how easily the clear coat has gotten scratched ... already some of decals in the seat post are peeling - I have taken care of it like a baby!!! It is almost as if the clear coat is to soft and did not cure long enough... has this happened to anybody else so soon?

Jollydog,
That is too bad to hear you have problems with your paint. I had my touring bike painted a Candy Apple metalic, and unfortunately, I chipped the fork before I even assembled the bike.
Yes, I think you need to let the paint cure for a good 3-4 weeks before you do anything with the bike. Unfortunately, we tend to want to ride the new toy ASAP, so the paint is still often still soft.
This is one advantage to a nude bike. No cure time.

Call Dean at Calfee. Don't leave a message. Call enough times and get him in person. It is easier that way.
My bike had some paint problems and they stood behind it 2 years and many miles later. It could be you got a bad paint job. I've never heard of decals peeling.
Carbon is not the best surface to hold paint. My Kestrel has chipped very easily. After awhile you just live with the paint in return for the great ride and performance. However in your case it sounds like something isn't right.

It's interesting that Calfee would take care of your problem 2 years after purchase. I had problems they wouldn't take care of less than one year from new. I've sold my Calfee because of it.

They did not make any promises but said they had to inspect it. I shipped it back and they felt that I had a bad paint job from the start. That my bike should not have chipped in the manner that it did.
Did you send yours back? If they did not warranty it I was going to pay to have it refinished. Fortunately they felt it should be covered.

Thanks everyone for the information. My LBS said they had sold over 30 Calfees and never had this kind of problem.I was contacted by Dean and Stella. Calfee will fix my bike and stand by their product...the bad thing is I will not be able to ride it for a few weeks!
