I'm contemplating a luna pro frame for use generally and in triathlons, and am currently fork shopping. The differences on these two Reynolds forks appear to be weight (probably due to materials) and rake. I understand weight. I don't understand rake. The comp aero has a rake of 43 mm. The pro aero seems to give you choices of 40, 43 and 45 for 700c. Can anyone shed any light on this for me, and/or tell me how rake might affect handling on a 50 or 52 luna pro? Anyone used either of these forks (I think the comp aero may be new).

I'd call Calfee. They know best. I'd try to get Craig.
Also if you do a search of this and the old phorum you will find a ton of material on this issue.
I'm with you. It is Greek to me.

This is a site for caculating trail. Most say that for a road bike trail should be in the 56-59mm range.Since the 50 and 52 have different head angles,my guess is that the 50 would use a 45mm rake and the 52 would use a 43mm rake, but check with Calfee to see what they recommend.
