Hello
I am looking to buy my first high end bicycle. I am looking for a frame with traditional geometry, in steel, and fillet brazed, which exhibits a lot of traditional craft.
I am trying to decide between the following:
Moser Leader AX Moser TK2 Merckx MX leader Colnago Master XLight De Rosa Neo Primato
Any assistance/comments on the merits of the above frames would be most appreciated.
Thanks
HNZ

You shouldn't limit yourself if you are looking at frames in this price range. There are some exquisitely good 'custom' made frames for around the same money.
Some that come to mind are Kirk: http://www.kirkframeworks.com/ Strong: http://www.strongframes.com/ Della Santa: http://www.dellasanta.com Landshark: http://www.landsharkbicycles.com/ only to name a very few. Any one of these builders can make exactly what you want, tailored to your needs and desires. There is a very big world out there when you are interested in bikes in your price range.

If you are on the east coast, look at Spectrum http://www.spectrum-cycles.com/

the bikes you've selected are all fine machines but, IMHO, dave and mike have the right idea. the good side working with a custom builder-it's a great experience with absolutely no compromises and you won't see your bike every time you go for a group ride-the only downside is that with a lot of the best builders it does take a while to get your frame.

Are there any custom frame builders in Singapore?

Kahuna, the creator of this site, lives in Hawaii and I believe has dealt with Tom Kellogg/Spectrum to have custom frames made. You may want to email him to get a sense of the experience of "long distance" custom frame building.

I'd include in that list dario pegoretti. There's a distributor in malaysia and japan.

It doesn't sound like you're on any sort of budget but if you're looking for a great value in a custom fillet brazed steel frame, check out http://www.curtlo.com. He's got a lot of experience doing custom fittings remotely. He tends to start with a bike you're currently riding and work from there.
