Q Pro Carbon rear end shapes
#1390 - 02/20/04 12:32 AM (216.210.228.10)

I too am the proud new owner of a 'left-over' Q Pro Carbon Team in Burning Poinsettia Red. Am still making some adjustments so can't comment on the ride, but I did notice something curious. The rear end, where the carbon meets, seems to have some "ribs" in the design (presumably for stiffness, etc.)
I also have a "Nightstorm" frame/fork (unbuilt) which may be "newer" as the back end does not feature the same ribs; overall its just more plain and rounded.

So... my long winded question is: which is an evolution of which (did my "team" frameset in poinsettia red with ribbed back end precede the non-team "nightstorm" rounded back end.)

(Such a simple question and I couldn't ask it right!)

Not sure about the ribs, but the burning poinsettia color scheme was the stock paint color for year 2003. Nightstorm has been an option on any frame for several years now. So unless you think the nightstorm is a year 2004 model I'd guess the evolution goes from ribbed to non-ribbed.
