Ebay dilemma, not such a good deal on a Pneumo...
#1430 - 02/22/04 04:28 AM (209.209.200.147)

I won a 2002 Pneumo on eBay last week. The helmet was delivered to my apartment complex's leasing office , and I picked it up this morning. It looked ok, until I checked the brow section on the inside, in the center. I remember reading on RBR about how Giro had to replace lots of Pneumo's because they had a defect and developed a crack there. I emailed the seller, but no response yet. My question is, if I get stuck with this helmet, will Giro replace it for a fee (since it has the crack that a lot of 2002's had) even though I won it in an auction? Does anyone have any kind of experience like that? I know you have to send a copy of the receipt to Giro for a replacement, but all I have is the Paypal receipt the seller shipped with the helmet. It may sound like I'm jumping the gun, but I'm just trying to think ahead and check out what options are available if this can't be resolved. All responses appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

The seller replied to my email and offered to rectify the situation with another Pneumo. Hopefully it will all end up fine.

Thats good news. Seems like you got a decent Ebay seller. But it leads to a great question that you mentioned. Would Giro replace or repair as you bought from a 3rd party????

I am betting they would (repair) if the issue ws pushed.

Call Giro.... new [Re: easypedaler]

It would be easy to find out what Giro would do. They have a tool-free number: 800 456 2355. MVNBIKES could call and merely ask what they would do. I've had excellent customer service from Giro when I called asking to buy replacement pads for my Pnuemo. They sent them to me at no charge in three days!
