is this possible? new

this past weekend i rode my CCKMP for the first time. its an '02 i bought used. i rode it for about 5 hours sat/sun. it definitely has more flex than my fina, which i like. but over rough pavement (which is all there is in new england at this time of year) it felt more harsh than my fina. the fina really soaks up rough vibration, even tho it is stiff as hell. i would have thought that the more flexible CCKMP would have been smoother. could the U2 tubing just not absorb vibration as well as the scandium?

well, the jerk guesses so....seems to be what you're experiencing my man....the jerk has found the fina to be probably the most t wonderful riding aluminum bike out there....it does everything perfectly....it is a little more solid than a cckmp which may be adding to what you are experiencing...in general in a given geometry two bikes made out of different materials tend to ride more like eachh other than two bikes of the same material made iin different geometries....are the forks the same rake? u2 tubing does seem too ride slightly "tinnier" than sc61.10...but then again the jerk could not tell a bit of difference in ride quality bewteen the ne 8:30 am and the fina estampa when he took'em both around the block the other day...

jerk,
i think you nailed it. the cckmp did feel tinnier. and perhaps it only feels so compared to the fina, but a fina just has something magical about it.
