Okay, this may be old news for you hardcore Calfee people, but I was at River City Bikes here in Portland today and saw a carbon lugged, bamboo tubed frame. It was stunning and, well, weird. Anyone else seen one of these?

I've seen a couple. Last one maybe at Sundance Cycles in Agoura Hills. Check this out for some of the history on this subject: http://www.insidetri.com/train/bike/articles/566.0.html
Craig posted on the "old" forum asking about buyer interest in alternative building materials.

That would be it! I guess there's two now, the one at RCB had an Ouzo fork and wasn't built.

I was at Calfee in January and they had one there. Maybe it's the same one.

Yeah, it probably was. The one at River City Bikes was delivered in January. It is most definitely stunning, but I'm not sure it would be a good choice for a long term, high use bike.

Does the bike come with watering and fertilizer instructions?
Good to see you doing your rounds again, Bones.

Yes Kevan it does.
When you buy them, they are all a size 50. You water and fertilize them, and hang them by a sunny window until they are the right size for you. The use of miracle grow, however, is discouraged for riders under 6'8".
Craig is going to be at River City this Saturday, maybe I'll check with him on the optimal growing conditions

From The RCB Website:

The one at Sundance Cycles was made for the owners wife, and was delivered to her sometime the middle of last year.
