I missed it so yesterday I purchased an ealy 1990's Calfee built LeMond Carbon frame in very good condition. It measures 56.5cm to the top of the seattube and about 55cm to the bottom of the post binder. I measured an effective toptube of 56.5cm (it's hard to be exact because of the slopping TT). The bike is the right size for me in the toptube measurement and about 1cm small in the seattube so all in all I think it will work fine. My Question (Finally!) is... does anyone know the headtube and seattube angles on this frame? My only complaint with my luna pro was the 74 degree headtube. As you know, this is different from Calfee specs which measure from the center of the bb to the bottom of the seat post binder. Thus the top tube length, HTA, STA, and fork rake (FR) for the 92' Lemond carbons (closest to your measures) were: 54 cm: Top tube=55.5 cm HTA=73deg STA=73.5deg FR=4.5cm 56 cm: Top tube=56.5 cm HTA=74deg STA=72.5deg FR=4.5cm Your top tube measurement leads me to believe that you have a 56cm Lemond carbon but your seat tube measure (as measured center to binder bottom) may indicate a 54 cm size. However, if your tt measure is accurate, then you likely have the 56cm. I re-measured it and the TT is 56.5 C-T-C from the bottom of the binder to the center of the headtube and 56cm along the TT. I double-checked the seat tube and my measurements are correct... it doesn't measure 54cm or 56cm from anywhere to anywhere! Does your brochure have a headtube measurement? This frame's headtube is 13cm. I was told that this frame was actually used be Greg LeMond himself (not sure I believe that). Perhaps it was a custom for him. That could explain some of the nonstandard dimensions. However, I recollect from an old Bicycling magazine article, which reviewed Greg's actual bike, listing its size as "55 cm" (or about 52.5 c-t-c). I believe his top tube was described as a 'rangy' 57cm. So you may have Greg's bike. Unfortunately, the 92' Lemond brochure does not list head tube lengths. BTW - would be nice to see your Lemond carbon in the gallery. I had one in the past and built it up as an exact replica but it was one size too big.
