I have a Independant crown Jewel and a Calfee Tetra Pro. The Top tube on the Crown Jewel is 56.5 with a 120 Deda newton stem with Deda 215 Anatomic Handle bars. I intended to make the Tetra the same position, but with a 57 top tube a 120 stem and Deda 215 Shallow drop bar. Not exactly the same, but my original thought was that the only difference would be .5 cm ( I didn't account for the bars to be different) . stem height is exactly the same. Now after rifing the Calfee for about 500 miles, I feel that I am more streched out on the Crown Jewel. Could that be due to the Handlebars? Turns out that I like the shallow drop better then the Anatomic. Now I am thinking that I would like to try a 130 stem, and see how that works out....any ideas????
---Also how much of a differnce does 10mm make?

OK, I think that i might have just figured out my problem. After checking the dimensions for the Anatomic bar and the shallow bar, I noticed the difference. The Anatomic bar has a reach of 86mm and the shallow bar has a reach of 80mm. This explains why I am more streached out on the Crown Jewel. My idea is that by switching to the 130 stem that will make the diff 4mm, and I think that I can get used to that. What do you guys think?????? Thanks for your help!!!!

I assume you've set your seat up to be in the same position relative to the BB. To me that's more improtant than where the bars are.
Next, you look at saddle to bar and saddle to hood reach. You already know different bars have different reaches. So do shift levers. DA 10 are about 1 cm further out than any Shimano 9 sp. shifer.
But at any rate, once the back half is dialed in, then play around with the front half.
130 stems have two problems IMO. One is they redistrubute your weight a little too far forward on the bike and it will change your handling a bit. Secondly, 130 stems can be flexier for out of saddle work. However, lot's of people use them so it might work for you too.

Top tube length minus setback is the more important dimension for reach to the bars. Top tube length alone doesn't tell you anything unless the seat angles are the same.
Deda's web site has good info on the drop and reach measurements for comparison too.
