I stopped into Il Vecchio in Seattle on my commute home last night (avoiding a sudden shower) and there in the workstand was an enormous new Qua Nau Se Ve being built up. It must have been a 63 or 64, and with the massive straight round tubes it was the biggest frame I've ever seen. It is also one of the coolest. The brown/khiki color scheme with the crazy text graphics looked amazing. To compliment this George had mounted one of those Selle Italia saddles with the brown leather inserts; a cruel looking device. He said it was just for pictures and he doubted the new owner would select that.
I speculated that this would be one stiff motha and George was of the opinion that it would ride like my MX-Leader only lighter. He said that the Gita guys had been kidding Pegoretti about the lack of carbon seat stays and his response had been, "Why would I want to ruin the ride?".
Hanging in the window was George's personal robins egg blue Luigino. He's planning on selling it when his new Luigino arrives next week. The new one has the grey/red Faema style paint and that is why George is upgrading; it reminds him of a Faema Masi he owned back in the 70's.
He has a few other Pegoretti frames on the wall, but the coolest thing in the shop right now is a blue Rene Hurst tandem, very neat. And of course George's own Singer was there as well. A great way to wait out the rain.

There was a Marcelo and a Fina Estampa. I have been admiring these bikes for years and just wish I could bring myself give up on one of my Merckx to make room for one. SWMBO limits me to no more than 4.

I have a TI-AX (just rode 95 hilly miles yesterday and loved the light weight), an MX-Leader (Motorola team colors and C-Record) and a Coursa Extra (commuter).
