degenerate into a full-fledged migratory movement, I say to thee: Greetings. Long have I lurked here (the old version as well as Kahuna's latest incarnation), but never before have I spoken here. However, now that my good friends Ed and 128 have sought refuge, I too shall make my nonsensical presence known.
I come in peace; although lugs and Suntour rule...so sayeth I.
Best, Scott

Would we thereby be a gaggle?
SN69's not trustworthy. He just gave away a classically restored Ibis. And not to ME.
What to say of such a lad?

That and "We've come to help you."
Tell us about your bike. Campy or Shimano? RBR or Bikefanclub?

As if it's not bad enough that he prefers bourbon over single malt and Bud over Negra Modelo, the man has the chutzpah to suggest that I do anything other than the moral, honest, righteous thing to do with that Ibis. (Neveryoumind that NOT only did I earn son-in-law credit, but I also earned a mint's worth of husband credit in the process. Believe you me, there's a Guru TriTi and/or a Rivendell with my name on it that has now been effectively earned.)
In any case, Bike Fan Clubbers...this is what we low lifes from RBR bring to the table.
Sorry 'bout that. Methinks we might have lowered your communal property value 'round here.

So here's this young military cat, still wet behind the ears, claiming an affinity for lugs, Suntour and Kerouac, all of which (whom?) were dead and buried long before he ever threw leg over bicycle, or near enough.
Next thing you know he'll be saying wool beats Lycra and toe clips trump Look pedals, and I'll have to weigh in and educate him about a few of these issues.
If you want the true gen on Roswell, aliens and varous double-top secret military aircraft, Scott's your guy. He can also be distressingly reasonable and balanced on political matters. But his efforts to inject retro-chic into the dialogue on this board are WAY out of line. If anyone's going to do that, it will be ME, at a place and time of my choosing.

Okay, so everything Ed said was true...at least the bits about the bike. I did, in fact, restore a '99 Ibis Spanky and built her up with a combination of juicy NOS and new components. ...And then I gave her to my father-in-law. He loves her. Damn him...I think those words every time he calls to tell me about how well she climbs up the San Gabriels.
In return, he gave me a 76 Raliegh International with Campy NR comps. It's badly in need of restoration, repaint, rechrome and a metric butt-ton of polishing. BUT, the derned thing is hopelessly too small for me.
Sigh.
I'm rambling...I know. Sorry.
