Finding a good Pegoretti dealer would be the first way to go - if they have high end clientele they might have actually done it before, but at the least are used to working with the brand, at least through the distributor (Gita Bike). Otherwise, with good fit in hand I presume, some people claim to have had e-mail dialogs with Dario on custom orders - I think he's willing. I just wouldn't start with that method if you're not VERY sure of all you want AND a Pegoretti dealer who knows he does custom is within reach.

If you have the money and the time, there's a company called 60aday (www.60aday.com) where you ride in Italy while building your new pegoretti bike at their factory. That would be a sweet way to build the "dream" bike....

i did a custom marcelo thru competitivecyclist.com great experience. contact brendan at competitivecyclist. he's a great guy, very helpful, and super responsive. thru brendan, i sent dario a bunch of my body measurements, and then began a really cool series of e-mails between dario and me. the frame specs that were the product of this process were spot-on, and the bike is absolutely lovely. build quality and paint are lovely. go for it!!!!! but talk to brendan. i believe they are the #1 peg dealer in US. and my experience with them over a number of frames has been great. tell brendan james sent you!

That tour / camp sounds incredibly cool. I'd love to talk to someone who has done it. Riding my favorite part of Italy, and bringing home the ultimate souvenir.
I have a Litespeed Vortex, a Serotta Legend Ti, and a ti Ritchey, and would seriously considering adding a Pego to my garage through this tour if it is, in actuality, even 50% as trick as it sounds.
Anyone out there have any scoop on this?

Last year's 60aDay build-a-bike-with-Dario did not come off. They started a bit late and there weren't enough takers. I had made inquiries and thought about doing it very seriously. It costs a boatload of money once you add in flights but it is the opportunity of a lifetime, if this is your fancy (and it's certainly mine). Dario will agree to build any model you like, I think, since I had asked about a Luigino. It's all quite the deal, as I see it. Once you got the cash, do you have the time? The usual questions.
