it looks like you ready do do alot of climbing. Trying to get it in the 15lb range ? My buddy just put a set of topolinos on his ottrott, boy are they light, spin up real nice too. I'm still having a little trouble with the looks of the bubblegum stuck on the spokes !
You will like the DA10 , it shifts like butta !

I'll sell you a frame to use until it comes. It will be the price of your crank alone. Plus it is an unusual frame in many ways.

When you weigh as much as I do, anything that's not downhill is climbing! I thought I'd test all of these carbon components that claim they don't have a weight limit!
Actually, this all started with just wanting a better frame. I was going to move all my current 105/Ultegra/Open Pro stuff from my old frame to the Calfee. But then the tax refund arrived, so I decided to get some light-weight wheels... and it was just a slippery slope after that.

Sounds like an excellent set up. Which frame are you going with? D'fly?
My only caveat (from one big guy to another) is on the zero gravity brakes. If you're riding on generally flat terrain then they'll be fine. However, if you ride in the hills or anywhere you might ever be riding down any technical descents you might want to keep those dual pivot breaks. I recently put mine back on (04 Dura Ace) –they give a lot surer feel going down some of the big hills.

Maybe you could rig all that stuff to a dining room chair and ride that around the house while you're waiting.

That's interesting. That's the first time I've heard anything about the brakes not performing every bit as good as DA and Campy. Is it more just a feeling, or do they just not grab as hard (good)when at speed with a lot of weight behind them?
Also, do you still have your Zero's? If you're looking to unload them, let me know. I can always send these back... they're brand new.

BikerDoug, how long have you been waiting for your frame already? Have they recently let you know it'll be longer than originally expected? I'm at the back of the line myself, having put in for a custom Tetra Tri a couple of weeks ago, and if there is a manufacturing delay, I'd like to know. But please, break it to me gently!

I've been told it would take about eight weeks and have not heard of any delay beyond that, but then again I fit on a stock frame.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the CATs. I still use them they're just relegated to a different bike. On my primary bike I use the DA 7800s ('04) and like them a lot better in terms of feel and stopping power. They have good control and can really bring me to a stop if need be. I never felt like I was out of control with the CATs I just like the DAs better.
Although Texas is mostly flat, here in Austin (especially in the area in which I live and ride) it can be pretty hilly. I don't know that I'd have switched them out if I rode mostly flat terrain.

Regarding delivery time, I hate to tell you this but my Luna Pro w/HT extension and paint took 12 weeeks. I was originally quoted 6-8. I have another great bike so it was OK but still somewhat frustrating. Good Luck !

And I was told that the usual 8 to 10 week schedule is now 10 to 12, and that is for stock frames.

Well, if you want some REALLY featherweight brakes... I just noticed that AX Lightness finally has their carbon brakes available through Craig. Less than 130 grams for the pair!! I'll let you try them first, if you live I'll buy a pair ;-)
