What a shame....
#3207 - 06/01/04 07:00 PM (68.200.102.76)

that this bicycle forum degrades just like all the others. I thought that I found one that would be "dedicated" to cycling only to find that it's too has been contaminated by politics. Why is it that people use whatever forum they can to get their "message" to the world? (By the way, most people don't care about your opinion on politics. I think that you just like to hear yourself "speak".) There are political forums for that purpose. Why not go there and find people that can challenge you? Ah! That's the rub! You most likely do not like to be challenged. Take your liberal and/or conservative dribble elsewhere. Let this place be for cycling.

Thank you for allowing me to vent and...

Have a nice day.

The only place I've seen comments on politics is in the General Discussion part. I hang out on the Calfee part and there really isn't any there.

Steam!! HI!! Only you would spell "drivel" as new [Re: dollarbill]

"dribble," and end with "have a nice day!" Good to hear from you!

I agree, by the way. I've asked the Great Kahuna to consider a "Water Cooler" forum where us bike folks could discuss the issues of the day. We're more than just cyclists, you know! Some of us, anyway ...

You mean there's life outside of cycling?

Interesting... A life outside of cycling? My wife doesn't believe there is - at least as far as I am concerned.

Thanks for the support. There is a time and place for every thing.

OES campaign for "water cooler" area has fallen on deaf ears. Kind of like GWB listening to reason
Seriously, the water cooler area is a good idea. Would like to see this board attract some more people and more posts.

I'm a lone voice crying in the wilderness. We need grass-roots clamor.

This board does have lots of potential. It's livened up considerably since the RBR exodus (I count 25 old RBRers registered here) but we could use more voices. And we need more people to CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINES WHEN REPLYING TO POSTS, dammit. Nothing more boring than a whole string of posts titled: "Re: Water Bottle Cage." Make subject lines LIVELY.

Plus, TJ, please post more. You're generally annoying enough to generate lots of outraged traffic. Ho, ho.

hey...many of us have been posting on various bike forums for years and simply get bored posting about the difference between 6/4 vs 3.25 TI and Campy/Shimano wars after a while. Very rare that I see a truly new post on any bike board anymore. I'd welcome a water cooler section for this site as these days I have pretty much run out of bike-related posts.

is what I'm talking about. ColnagoFE! Shame on you! You didn't change your topic line! Have you learned NOTHING from me?

Good post though. Lobby Kahuna, on the Site Suggestions board.

"Re: Bottle cage question" six hundred lines. Sheesh.

Ha! Haven't gotten used to this forum software either. You wouldn't think it would be so difficult to come up with something that facilitates natural discussion, now would you? I'd give up the fancy smileys and features ina second if they could do that. In any case...what do you think cooked Tenet's goose? Chalabi maybe?

He's an old pol. He's wired and connected all over Washington, and he knows the shytstorm that is about to rain down on him, in the form of several blistering reports on CIA failures. I really think he's just tired, and wants to get out of Dodge ahead of the maelstrom. I don't really think Bush eased him out. Doesn't make sense. He was a great lightning rod.
