Has anyone ever tried removing old decals and installing new ones? Any tips? My white decals are cracking all over the place and Seven sent me a new set of black ones. They indicated that I may have gotten a "bad batch" of decals.

Acetone will "melt" the old decals. That's how I removed them when I had my frame painted.

I was able to get the old decals off no problem. The problem is the new decals for the toptube would barely stick to the tube even though I had cleaned the tube thoroughly with alcohol and water. I would get some adhesion, but not enough for the decal to pull free from the backing.

I recall reading somwhere that rubbing the decal briskly would get it to "activate". Send Seven Cycles an e-mail or give them a call and they would definitely help. There should have been directions that were included with the decals you got. I have mine somewhere, but never got around to replacing the old ones.

I was planning on contacting them regarding the "correct" application method. But, I soaked the decals in water, placed them on the tube, rubbed them with a soft towel, and got zip. There were no instructions with the decal set, but I found a good website that covered the topic.

I am quite sure that they are not supposed to be soaked in water, and are applied as is...

Excellent question, I sent Seven and email yesterday asking the samething! Got a reply back today saying "buy the stickers and there will be instructions included".
Not a very helpful response...
