Planet X help
#3450 - 06/17/04 03:08 AM (172.150.200.239)

Hi,
So I'm moving to Edinburgh, Scotland to get a masters. I can't bring much with me and have sold my mtn and road bikes. I was thinking I'd get a steel planet x. I have 2 questions.

1) will this bike be adequate for trail riding? I've never ridden a cx. I mtn bike loads. Would you reccomend getting a riser bar instead of drops? But then I couldn't road ride really so i def. need drops. Any thoughts?

2)When I return StateSide, I was thinking I'd use the planet x as my road bike. Set it up with a dura ace group and thinner tires. What are your thoughts on the planet x frame as a pure road bike?

lastly,
what if I just got a club racer to go to europe with. I couldn't mtn bike on it but it would kick ass at commuting and touring on weekends and whatnot. Can I stick thicker tires on that?

thanks.

Why don't you wait 'till you get there, then you can see what's available and useful in your situation.

From what I see in English bike mags, there are a lot of *local* made bikes that appear to be good, and inexpensive, and a large variety of different English/Euro bikes with dandy pricing.
