To our Roadie Brethren:
First of, we would like to thank “Kahuna” (Gary, our Forum moderator) for giving us the opportunity to tell you about a very worthy cause.
On August 21st, my wife and I will be participating in a Century Ride to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are collecting money to help provide support to patients and their families, (i.e. financial assistance in meeting medical costs), research for better treatments and therapies, as well as an extensive advocate program vying for Government research funding to benefit patients and their families.
We wanted a way to make a difference and give back to others who could use our help. We are training for this event through a program called “Team in Training”. They are a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Their coaches volunteer to train poor schlubs like us into endurance monsters! I vow to not to eat Krispy Kreme’s until the Century is over.
Although their coaching and training will get us through the 100 mile course, we also need your help in raising funds for this cause. Our goal is to reach $5,000. We could use the help of our fellow Roadies to assist us in reaching this goal.
It’s very easy, just go to the “Team in Training” web site through the supplied link and donate. Every little bit helps, even just a few bucks.
Thank you so much,
Sherry and Steve Brill
