Hi all,
More problems for me...sheesh, and I've yet to ride this bike of mine. I've tried an Easton EC90 carbon, Deda BlackStick carbon and a Thomson Elite aluminum post but no luck, the seatpost still is able to twist and slips down slightly with pressure on the seat. It even rocks back and forth ever so slightly. Anyone else experience loose seatpost installations? If you did have some problems, what did you do to correct it? My only other recourse is to strip the bike and send it back to Calfee.

That is really strange. Since the tubes are all from the same supplier and they are tubes you would have to wonder how bad your luck would have to be to get a tube that is not sized properly.
I know with mine that if the seat post clamp is not real tight that it can slip. Carbon posts can have that problem. However you said you had the Thomson in there as well.
I'd drop an e-mail to Craig over the weekend and then try calling them on Tuesday. Don't leave messages if you can be patient. It is always best to keep calling until you get Dean or Craig live.

I've spoken with Dean about this and he recommended using a Thomson also. He has been good at returning my messages (I call in the morning, he returns it at the end of the day). After looking at the seat tube insert to see how it is constructed, there is a fiberglass insert, with a slot, which is bonded to half of the seat tube. When the clamp is tightened the insert gets squeezed and contracts, closing the gap of the slot. Mine doesn't do that - don't know if it should. Eventhe slot on the seat tube is pretty narrow, not allowing for much movement.
Here's a big favour to ask of someone out there. Can you remove your seatpost and then tighten the clamp to see if the fiberglass sleeve actually contracts? That would help me out a lot.

I've had 2 different Tetra Pro's in the last 5 months and neither one would hold a Deda Blackstick post. I even had the supplier send me a 2nd Deda post...which when all else failed, I tightened so tight that I punctured the post. 
I got so sick of my rides being messed up and then worrying about it that I bought a Thomson Masterpiece and it hasn't slipped a mm. Nice post too. 157g and rock solid.
I loved the look of the Deda but got way too sick of the hassel. BTW, a friend of mine put an FSA CF post in his new TP and it never slipped. Go figure.

I have an Alpha Q in a Luna and it not only doesn't slip but it was very snug when inserted.

Did I mention that is a beautiful Calfee. One of my favorite fades. Nicely done.

Thanks, vaxn8r. I'm going to take the bike to my LBS and try a few different posts to see if it makes a difference, but I doubt any will stop the 'rocking' that I'm experiencing.

I don't know about that. Don't lose faith. My Deda was "rocking" too. A horrible noise. I got that fixed somehow but never got the posts to not slip. I'll bet I worked on those Deda posts for 15-20 hours all told, between taking the seat on and off, removing, cleaning, recleaning, retrying on the road, recleaning, trying alcohol, trying everything, even sanding the post very lightly to get the slippery finish off, gettting a brand new post, trying a new seat clamp...twice!, same efforts all over again... arrrrgghh!!! The Thompson worked from the first try. Not only that but it had a different, more positive feel as I tightened it.
I'm not saying you should go Thompson....only that I'd be wiling to bet it will work.

Have you tried the Campy Record post? My LBS installed the Record post in my 04 Tetra Pro and told me that it was a very tight fit. I have had absolutely no slippage problems in 5 months of riding.

I have a Thompson and mine has never slipped in my Tetra. I can't figure out why the Blackstick would be considered any better. When the Thompson is such a known entity, I mean why mess with success?
