I have ordered my 1st cyclocross bike, and went with the Mudhoney. I cannot wait...from reading posts and other reviews, everyone sounds quite happy (understatement). I am going to use some ultegra from my road bike and a set of spinergy rev-x's. I was wondering if anybody had a strong opinion on using a wound-up or alpha Q fork? ? ? for what it's worth, I am 6'3" -- 275 lbs. thanks for any advice or opinions that you have.. KM

First, gratz on the new wheels!
Major components like the fork can have a substantive impact on the performance of the bike, based on your riding style, preferences and use. Personally, I would query Seven and see what they have to say (I assume the bike is custom?). I don't know much about the Alpha Q (other than everyone likes it) but I do love the Seven branded Wound-Up fork. Stable, stiff and has a different look from the others.
Good luck!

During the q & a phase of the ordering, we were leaning toward wound-up, more than likely the tandem model. gram-counting is not my style. I would rather have the weight and the confidence of a stronger fork. The measurements and the frame (yes..custom) were sent in witht the wound-up as the fork of choice. Right now, Rob V. is reviewing the specs, so I should have at least one more conversation with seven, before thay begin to build. I will keep you posted ... KM
