Carbon Handlebars

I have a Bar Stem combo and like the bar very much. The only negative is keeping the cables in the grooves on the underside. I like the flat area on the top and have friend who wants to get a similar bar. Have any of you folks used any of the other models out there that are similar to the Calfee? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I haven't ridden the calffee, but my Winwood CF bar has great flats on it, similar I think to what you're describing. I highly recommend it.

Hey!

Checkout FSA's K-Wing bars. They're very light, flat in all the right places and also have internal cable routing. Great bars, but ynfortunately you'll pay anywhere from $190 to $225 for 'em.

Make sure you torque them down properly.

I too have the Calfee ergo bar and love them. Very comfortable bar. I tape mine to just before the thumb indentations so I've never had an issue with cable routing underneath. I don't see how you can tape it any other way on that bar because of the lack of internal cable routing found on something like the K-wing bar or the cinelli ram bar. Too bad b/c you can't show off the carbon.

My buddy has the K wing bar and although he likes his, I found that the Calfee bar felt better. The flats seem more comfortable as well as the drops. Besides, I don't like the way the bar rises up from the center. Looks a little odd. Stay with the bar that feels right for your position and riding style. Cable routing can always be overcomed.
