What do I have here?

[Edited Post from General Discussion]

My dad gave me his Bob Jackson he says he picked up in the 60's. Here's the part list from a quick look over. I'll get a closer look this weekend. What's word on this stuff?

Parts:
--"Nuovo Record" on the rear deraileur, just campy on the front
--"Strada" on the cranks, campy rings, didn't check the casette
--"Brev" on the pedals, headset and fork
--Says "campy..." on the rear frame dropouts
--Skewers are campy
--Hubs are campy in Mavic wheels
--Just campy on the seat post
--Just campy on the downtube shifters (Wow! Click, click, click perfect shifting."
--Didn't notice anything on the bars.
--Stem: "Gran-Prix" with a "ttt special" on the front. Heard of this?
--He also gave me a pump that says "Impero"

Brakes are shimano 600, levers Dura ace. He says he thought they were Weinman or something like that but doesn't remember switching them out.

This steel frame is sweetness. Nice detail, lugs...

Problem area:
Front mavic wheel has a popped spoke and is out of true. This spoke is surely not original, looks different. Other loose spokes.
--If this wheel can't be repaired, what would you recommend lacing the campy hubs to to keep the overall bike as true to original spirit as possible?

--Needs a paint job. Thoughts on doing this locally or in the states or send it back to Merry old England and get it done up as close to original as possible, Jackson stickers and all?

I need to figure out the picture posting thing so you can have a look. The campy stuff sure is pretty. And so is the frame.

Any thoughts, insight, most appreciated.
Thanks,
Nev

Brev mean Patent in Italian.

Index shifting would not match the rest of the components. It was probably added later. It would be either Syncho or Syncho II, probably II if it is 8 speeds.

How many speeds?

I saw an original carbon Exxon Graftek the other day with a 5 speed corn cob. 13-17. Wow! The guy was just getting back into cycling after taking off 20 years. Was a former NY State champion. Got dropped on the first hill. He was starting to add modern parts to it. I told him to put the original parts back on it and sell the thing on ebay and get a new bike with the cash. He is not a collector, and this is definately a collectors bike. Had Campy on it, but did not get a close look.
