Has anyone tried this saddle? Thoughts?

No. I have the Fizik Aliante and love it. I bought an SLR before and took it back after 2 weeks.....rock hard in all the wrong places. The Fizik is like a lazy boy for a bike. Check out their web site. You can buy seat covers for them. Zebra, Boa, some exotic stuff. Not cheap though.

I tried one when they first appeared last fall. I loved the way it felt on my butt, but it gave me numbness problems with the tip of my... mmm... let's say (insert your favorite euphemism).

I took it back and am currently riding a Selle Italia MaxFlight Gel. No numberness but it isn't nearly as comfortable in other areas. I think the Fizik was just too narrow for my sit-bones.

YMMV

I switched from a Selle Italia SLR to an Arione on my Calfee in early December. Between Christmas and New Year's Day I did 240 miles on it, and it was great. When I picked up my new Litespeed on Saturday, I had it speced out with an Arione too.

I like it a lot. It is long, allowing you to perch on the nose for high speeds on the flats when you want to angle your foot with the heel up and toes down, and slide far back on the climbs for more power. It has a softer area in the middle so as not to compress your 'equipment.' My wife and I are expecting our first child since I got this saddle about eight months ago so I can testify that it works in that respect. I find it is the right balance between comfortable and firm. I'm sure I'd like the Alliante (which looks a lot like the Concour that LA rides to me) too but I think it is very overpriced and lacks the length of the Alliante. I think a lot of bikes are OEM specing the Arione now, so you can go down to your LBS and see if you like it.

I have one on my Calfee and really like it. It is heavier than some but I find it very comfy and you can move around on it a lot. give one a try.

I have one and like it a lot.
Had the Aliente but could not adjust it as not to get
numbness, the hammock shape did not work for me.
Like Jeff said you can move around on it and on long rides
this is really appreciated. A++

Fizik just displayed the Airone Carbon at Eurobike and they got the weight down to a competitve 199 grams (from 230): http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2004/tech/shows/?id=eurobike/part2/eb04-fizik1. Now it has cool anti-scuff equipment on the sides so you can lean it against things, too. I'm not going to replace the old one...but that is cool nonetheless.

I have the Arione on my Tetra Pro and have been very happy with it. I encountered numbness only once after a 207 mile one-day ride and it was my fault for not getting out of the saddle enough.

207 mile ride!...that'd be one long day in the saddle.
