Anybody riding one? I'm thinking hard on getting a custom steel hard tail. This a good way to go? Good thoughts/bad?

While I can't comment on MTB's I do have a Strong Road bike. Dealing with Carl was a pleasure. Not only does he know his stuff, he is very personable. You will get a super value for your money. He builds cool bikes.

I am riding a full FOCO road. Though I was pretty certain in what I wanted, I did the online measurements. Then I had a couple of phone conversations with him. No surprises as Carl suggested almost exactly what I thought I wanted. I say almost because at he suggested a 3 degree sloping top tube. I am glad I went with that. The bike fits and rides excellent. Bottom line is that if you provide accurate sizing info Carl will get it right.

I got a double butted Hardtail from Carl. It's a fantastic ride, smooth and very stable. It's more stable at speed on a downhill road than my Giant TCR2 roadbike. The fit is great and everytime I see it in the garage I want to get out and ride it.
One point of warning, make sure your know exactly what you want and need on the bike. I probaly specced the BB drop a fraction too low and I should have put an extra hydro cable brazeon on the TT.
Drop me an email and I'll email you a couple of photos and details of my build.
Carl does an exceptional job.
Cheers, Gavin
