I'd like to know why Shimano does not supply the lube as a separate item that they use on their new 10 speed Dura Ace chain.This clear colured very tacky like subtance seems to work really well, till it eventually wears off, then the chain is never the same.

Nashbar sells a Shimano Lube. Below is their description.
Shimano Slippery Spitt Wet Lube
#YY-HSR
A wet, petroleum-based chain and cable lube that reduces friction, prevents corrosion and extends the life of rubber seals. Sure it's just lube. And the Himalayas are just hills. 2.5 oz. hypodermic applicator. No waste. Great for home, shop or seat bag
However I would call Shimano. Their customer service number is: 949-951-5003. They could tell you if it is the same or different.
Good luck. Let me know what you find out. I'm forever trying different lubes. Campy is supposed to make an excellent chain lube. The shop I go to loves it. However they have trouble getting it. I've never used it. I just bought Rock and Roll to try something else in the cold weather.
