I thought it was the ti rails in the seat post clamp. I could actually make the noise with pushing down on the saddle side to side with my hands. Thought is was the saddle loose on the rails. Took it to shop the seat came from.
They wiped the rails and put a few drops of Finish Line Ti prep, an anti seize on the rails and I could not make the sound with my hands any more.
Just got back from first ride though and it's still there.
Soon as I stand up out of the saddle the creaking stops. It's ONLYwhen I'm sitting and almost constant.
What would cause this only while sitting? Last ride before this was a three hour ride I thought the sound would never leave my mind.
Arione seat.

Have tried a different seat. Noise persists.

Ruled out so far: Seat -- tried two Seat rails -- cleaned Seat rail/post contacts -- clean clean with/out ti prep added Seat post -- carbon post clean Seat post collar -- cleaned up, bolt clean and it prepped Water bottle bolts/cages -- removed entirely Rear drop outs, skewers -- checked, cleaned, tightened... Front drop outs, skewers -- checked, cleaned, tightened... Bottom bracket -- checked tightened up today Bar and stem bolts -- all tight
They're going to put some different wheels on. Try that. We'll see...

I had a very annoying squeak/creak once and I was convinced it was the bottom bracket. It turned out to be the rear skewer. A little grease between the skewer and the dropout and it was gone. I was lucky in finding someone who knew that.

Yea, I think I read that on here actually. Maybe you mentioned it somewhere. Also learned about the front skewer noise here. Fixed it right up. I tried that last night. No luck. I'm just happy when I finally ran out of ideas, and tools, the shop could hear the noise too. I gotta get me the bb tools for my dura ace. I'll be able to use them on my mtb xtr stuff also. I shoulda had them by now anyway.

Turns out it was the aluminum shim/collar thing inside the seat tube. Put some red locktight down there, turned the bike upside down to let it drip in between the shim and tube and done.
After what I did and the shop going through it I pretty much got a bike overhaul. (Their list was pretty extensive). Glad they checked that last!
