Will an MX Leader be too stiff for me? I'm weighing in at 170# these days. The frame is often described as being most appropriate for "bigger, stronger riders."
I'd hate to be pounded by a frame>
Thanks for your advice.

At 170, you would be classifed as big. The MX is a very, very nice-riding bicycle. The fact that it's for bigger, stronger riders does not mean that it's made from gaspipe or has the ride of a rigid old Cannondale. Merckx knows how to make a frame that's rideable, which is more than can be said of many frames produced here in the states. After all, would you buy an Italian football helmet? Of course not, so why not buy a bike that's made by someone who's been racing them for decades?
Also check the Moser Leader AX Steel or Coppi or Ciocc or the ital bikes sold thru Torelli.

i weigh 150 lbs and my mx leader is as sweet a riding frame as you could imagine. the magic of eddy is that he can build a super tough frame yet that frame isn't too stiff, too harsh, too anything. yes, an mx leader is a tad heavy, but i think that might be the only critique you could level at it. a corsa might be more appropriate for smaller riders, but if classic steel is what you're after, an mx is a wonderful choice, i think.
