With the help of this board the pump issue has been solved. Now another issue/probleb. Seat tube bottle cage cannot be clamped on. Can only get top screw in. Bottom screw not long enough b/c of where front del. clamp is positioned. Any suggestions? I have never had the clamp in this position before. It is actually in the middle of the 2 cage screws. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean to say that the 2 studs (tetra) or nuts(luna) are above and below your F der clamp? I own a 58cm Tetra and have about 6cm or more above f der clamp to the lowest stud.I am running a 53 big ring.How small is this frame?

I'm not quite understanding what you are trying to say. Are you using the original seat tube water bottle mounts for your pump, or is your pump mount separate and independent of the bottle cage mount?

First get a longer screw. Then take 2 or 3 of the round "nuts" that come with a tube that some people use to hold the valve tight against the rim. (You really don't want to leave them on once a tire is mounted.) This will build up the area between the tube and how the extra length needed to clear the derailleur.
I hope all this makes sense. If a dealer can't get you a longer screw just go to a really good hardware store. I even replaced the allen screw that adjusts D/A brakes at my hardware store.

I have a 53 Tetra, and my bottle bolts are above and below the deraileur clamp just as you decribed. I have used two or three different bottle cages and none of them interfered with the clamp. You may want to try a different type of cage or clamp (if your deraileur is a braze-on type).

Also another poster mentioned that they have tried a couple different cages and this worked with this problem. What type of cage. LBS around herre don't carry anything and most are closed this time of year...Thank God for the internet.

To better explain:
Frame size 48CM...yes...48.
The Front Del. clamp is inbetween the top and bottom cage mounts. Del is a clamp on. 
So far have tried elite cages that came fram a gift.

Lon has the best solution. The small threaded washer that comes on the stem of an innertube is the perfect spacer. Merely slip it on the screw between the cages and the frame and it will space things out evenly so that you aren't in danger of bending that water bottle cage around the DER clamp. Longer screws are necessary for sure. FYI don't forget to grease those screws! The maintenance down the road will be much easier of you do so and your threads will stay intact longer!

noheadwind, when I was you had a Hotmail address I uploaded three photos to the gallery. I hope in using three it is easy to see how it works. The cages are Elite. (Hotmail boxes are small and don't always take larger attachments.) Kahuna has to approve them so there will be a small delay.
