`03 Chorus Equivalent for `04?
#437 - 01/02/04 12:08 AM (206.126.9.159)

Are the metal alloy shifters from the 2003 Chorus gruppo gone for good? I'm glad I picked up a set recently because these are my favorite levers of all time. To me they feel more solid and provide for more positive shifting than the Record levers of the same year. I haven't tried the 2004 Ultra yet but I have two bikes with 2003 Record. I just like the feeling and looks of the metal Chorus shifters.

Aloha,

-K

I have the opposite opinion, I prefer the record levers over the chorus, not that they shift any different . I just like the feel better.

I just put the new 04 record ultra's on my legend, with the 04 rear de. and notice no difference between them and the 03's, but they're not broken in yet either. Before I mounted them I compared the shifting, with neither on the bike yet, to a brand new set of 03 shifter, they had the exact same stiffness to them....

So I don't see any reason to spend the extra $$$ for the 04 shifters if you looking for " ULTRA" smooth shifting..

I wonder if the 04 Centaur is now the same as 03 chorus ?
