Yes, I'm heartbroken...a third child has me happy, but sick with guilt for not giving my D'fly its requisite amount of attention. This one's a piece of Calfee history too!
I'm the owner of Stella Buckwalter's famous (and Best of Show Winner, Vegas 2002) Dragonfly Pro. This bike is Dragonfly #100 and was purchased directly from Stella herself, last year, while she was still with Calfee.
For those unfamiliar, this is a topped-out Dragonfly Pro with clear coat AND orange polka dot finish. Size 54cm with 1 cm head tube extension, full Campy Record (2002), American Classic 350 wheels (custom, weighing a scant 1,264 grams), USE Alien seat post, carbon bottle holders, Deda Newton Stem (110 mm) and San Marco Era Composite saddle (140 grams). Maybe 1,200 miles. I've upgraded the handlebars with a new FSA K-Wing (44 cm).
This bike is too good for eBay, etc. and, as such, I am hoping to perhaps pass this legend (passing the torch?) to a real Calfee fan. Of course, only a real Calfee aficionado might appreciate the value of such a bike.
A used 54 cm Dragonfly sold on eBay last week for $6,600 (2003, similar components, but Campy carbon wheels). Reasonable offers will be entertained for the D'spot and I'm happy to provide photos, etc.
Best,
-Andrew
