Gents,
I'm considering purchasing a LeMond all carbon frame (Maillot Jaune?) and am unsure as to the year (seller's got no idea). I know Calfee (then CarbonFabrications?) made some all carbon frames for LeMond in the early 90s; anyway to tell if it's one of those? Has LeMond offered an all carbon frame since? Thanks in advance.

Its probebly a Trek OCLV.Lemond offered these just after being purchased by trek.Note that although they were the same frame, the sizing was marketed differently. The 62cm Trek was the 59cm Lemond.
Treks were/are measured to the seat collar and Lemonds were measured c-c.They then advertised the Lemond as having a lomger top tube::)This was around '97.
I think Calfee and Lemond had a cooperation thing waay back but not that model name.

The frame made by Carbonframes is the "Lemond Alpe d'Huez" produced in 1991.
see http://calfeedesign.com/whoweare.shtml
The Carbonframes bike made for Lemond is very similar to the current Calfee's. That is to say there are gussets around the bottom bracket, head tube and seat stay/seat tube junctions.

Go to the photo gallery, type in Lemond under search and it will come up with several photos of Calfee/Lemond frames. If the one you're considering looks like those (or any current Calfee), then ya got a Calfee.
If it looks like an OCLV, then ya got a Trek!

If it's a Maillot Jaune, it's a Trek OCLV. I own one and it is an excellent bike. But it is a Trek.
