Calfee, carbon and zip ties
#4864 - 01/04/05 12:40 PM (152.163.100.69)

For some reason I have double wireless on my mind. I love senseless but really neat stuff. So I am considering the cateye double wireless. The one with a 36 page manual. But my question is.....

The cadence sensor seems to be attached to chain stay via the trusty, sturdy zip tie. Is a zip tie safe to snuf against my beautiful calfee carbon. Zip ties have to be tugged pretty snug. Just a concern I have. The next concern is my wife saying...." you paid _______ for a %%&&%%^^ cyclocomputer.

What I do on my steel bikes to protect the paint is wrap some electrical tape around the stay and zip the sensor over it. I think that would work for CF just fine. I don't think you need to be worried about damaging the tube from the compression of the zip tie.
