is your calfee a he or a she? new
#5018 - 01/31/05 07:19 PM (144.126.209.102)

so i was thinking: i always refer to my fly as a she. she's refined, and ohh sooooo smooth. and a bit stiff if you push her. she's hardly ever dirty, and i love seeing her nude. the saddle matches the decals. the bar tape matches the frame. it must be a she. fitting, i suppose. anyone name their ride? so what about ur ride: a he or a she?

by the way, times are slow on these boards - the weather sucks - so i figured i'd get something going.
Is your calfee a male or a female?
You may choose only one
Male
Female

Now this has me wondering, and with the wife out for the night at sewing class I can't ask her so I'm asking here: do women riders refer to their bikes as a he?

Idle thougths.

cheers.

Chloe is my little carbon darling. My wife doesn't even mind having her around.

I only ride "female" steeds.

Now here is a fun question...My roadbikes are refered to as gals and the mtb bikes as dudes, no names beyond that. No reason in particular, but it works for me.
Roadbikes seem beautiful and graceful to me, just like a gal, where asmtb bikes are rugged and cool, just like a dude should be. Works for me!!!

Upon further reflection I realized that internally I think of a bike as it is a part of me; my "machine." I think of the times when I felt connected to my bike as I pedaled and enjoyed the feeling of being, "in tune," with it. Then I catch myself referring to it as She, go figure.

Ships are always she, why should a bicycle be any different? I'm going to have to put on my thinking cap and come up with a proper name. I'll stop short of smashing a bottle of champagne on her to put her into commission, though.
