It's been a long time

Hi,
I'm guessing nobody here remembers me, I haven't been to this board for a year or two. You can imagine my confusion when a picture of my bike in the photo gallery is under the name Tom Kellogg, but I guess that has to do with the new forum format.
My question is this: I have a 62cm tetra that I bought for road racing/riding. It has extra stiff tubes (stock for over 58). I love the bike, but as I am graduating from college, my priorities are shifting away from racing, and I am thinking about touring. Is it possible to retrofit for (light) touring?
I have heard that the screws at the dropouts can be replaced with longer ones to attach a rack. My load would be light.

Thanks for any input,
Greyhound

If your load is light, would a rack that mounts to the seat post be sufficient? At my book here, the range for weight limit is from 25 lbs up to 55 lbs. That way, you won't have to worry about modifiying your bike at all. The next question is, will the seat tube take the extra force from the seatpost?

Dan

Thanks for the reply, This might be a good option, because breaking the adhesive at the bolt to replace it might require heat, ruining my ferrari red paint near the dropout. My boss (work at a bike shop when I'm not up at college), is calling Dean at Calfee to find out what I can do, I'll let you guys know what I find out.
