I anticipate being the happy momma of a nude Luna Pro, which I just bought the frame for. Size 46, as befits my name. I already love it, 650 wheel size and all, which I race on and think are just fine, despite the pitying looks I often get  Probably will have it built it up new Dura Ace, Alpha Q sub 3 fork, Ksyrium Elite wheels (training wheels, I have Hed Alps for racing wheels).
Does anyone have any heads ups/comments on the ride quality my wheel and fork choice suggest? I am just going on what I know already, but I have only ridden aluminum so far.
Also, will someone explain the part about maintaining nude frames with 303 once a month. I don't mind maintainence, but I don't know what 303 is. I clean my present frame with just a damp cloth or bio degreaser. Is that not the best choice for the new baby?

Welcome to the forum.I've heard that K's can ride harsh,but I've never owned a pair.I bet those Hed Alps ride sweet....
Nude frames need protection from UV rays,and 303 does that.use it about once a month and all will be well.
I hope you enjoy your Luna as much as I do mine.

303 (a brand name) is a protectant, similar to Armorall, and is applied to your frame monthly or more if you wish. 303 is common and often sold in auto parts stores. Don't use Armorall, it makes things sticky.

I considered getting Kysrium Elites, because I didn't want to spend more than about $450 on wheels for training. I race on Zipps. They rule. Instead of Ksyrium Elites, I got DT 240s hubs built with DT spokes on DT R 1.1 rims. 28F 32R...etc. I think it is a great alternative to Ksyrims and you can get them from a guy who sells them on eBay...but for you I don't know...DT probably doesn't make them in 650C. I wanted some fast wheels for training, but in the end I decided to get wheels that I could ride home if I broke a spoke. A buddy just pulled a spoke through his Ksyrium SL SSCs they other day, he had to use his cell, stand around and wait for somebody to pick him up and now stands to spend $150-200 to get a new rim and a rebuild. Mavic really has you over a barrel if you have a problem...and you have no wheels for a week or two at best. Make sure you weigh those factors before you make your choice.

Someone wondered how the Hed Alps rode. I'm really impressed with how well they do in crosswinds, which is kind of amazing, but I don't feel like the hubs spin up all that quickly.
I got these partly out of inexperience. I got a front wheel on ebay a year or so ago, to go with a trispoke rear I already had. For that it is great. At the time, I asked the seller if he had by some chance a deal on the front, too, and he did. So I got a pair, and had the front for tt and the both for other races. It has worked out fine for me, and I can't complain about what I spent. However, as you may know, they're 50 mm which is awfully high. I've always wondered what a more normal 30-ish high pair of wheels would ride like. I'm not worried about saving weight so much as handling. I have never had anything but my open pros that came with the bike and the Alps. Feast or famine, eh?

I'm getting Ksyrium Elite 700's for my custom Tetra Pro because I don't race and want a bullet-proof wheel. For the price you can't do much better IMOHO.
