I have a Marcelo that I dearly love and am thinking of getting a Fina Estampa. Does anyone have a view on the lifespan of these aluminum frames?? Do they break? No one says that they will last as long as steel but what is reasonable to expect? I weigh about 150 lbs, pamper bikes and don't ride rough roads on purpose. Same questions for CCKMP but these are pricey, no?

Forever, or until you crash and ruin it, the Fina is not as "lightweight" as some other aluminum frames but it rides beautifully and is the only AL frame I would consider owning, unless it were a CCKMP (just as stalwart).

i have a cckmp that i bought used. it's 3 years old. never been pampered. and it is rock solid. no signs of wear and tear. looks like it can go years and years more. somehow cckmp's have gotten the rep as being "delicate" or "fragile". my experience has been just the opposite. so much so that i've asked dario to build me a custom cckmp that i expect to last a loooooooooooooong time.

I too have a Marcelo( custom geometry) that I received late last summer. One sweet ride ! By chance I bought a barely used Fina at a dirt cheap price this past winter. Built up it is just over 17 lbs . To me it is the great equalizer for someone my size (6-2 192 lbs ) when climbing hills next to guys that are 20-40 lbs lighter than myself. On the flats great acceleration. So given your size and the stiffness of this frame, you'll absolutely scream up the hills and a Fina should last you along long time. Yes the ride quality is different than that of steel, but you will not be disappointed !
