DeRosas are great bikes. The geometry on the current bikes is probably different from the golden Merckx-era Derosas of the 1970's.
The geometry specs for the modern bikes are slightly different as far as TT, BB drop and chainstay even for the same size frame. So Dual, Corum or Neo Primato in the same size each have slightly different geometries. BTW, the compact geos between the King and other same size sloping Derosas is also different.
Maybe most bike makers do this but I thought makers used the same geos by size across the line, like Colnago does.
So we have modern Derosas that each ride and handle slightly differently from their peers. Which modern Derosa rides like the Merckx bikes? This is significant because I think the DeRosas that inherited the 1970's geometry are the true namesake. Good enough for Eddy is good enough for me. IMO to take that geometry and modernize it is like colorizing a B&W movie.

Carbon - I used to really like DeRosa's and I still do to some extent. But in your note you said "good enough for Merckx...". Do what I did, buy a Merckx! He knows his stuff and he uses the same geometry across the line. I think his sloping TT bikes come out a "little" different, but not much. The old "century" geometry is hard to beat!
