Is there any place in the country where people are riding without Mother Nature telling them to find a new hobby?

It's been a Chamber of Commerce week in SW Florida. The only problem is the tourists. But sometimes I feel cursed to be locked in this state. Year round riding but flat and boring.

Titanium, fenders and Purple Extreme should keep you on the road, no?
When I lived in Seattle/Tacoma it was Gortex and a hat that allowed me to stay outdoors most of the time, though I wasn't then bike freak I am now.

Don't tell anyone but NW Florida and lower Alabama is heaven for riding. Rolling hills and miles of backroads. Heck I rarely see another cyclist when I'm riding alone.
Usually I won't ride road below 50, and we hardly ever have daytime highs below that. To boot the people are friendly, and usually go out of their way to be nice.
Then again the summers are hot and humid. To beat the heat is easy; get your riding done by 11am and you are golden.

Sacramento, California where it only rains in the winter months, a scant 3 months of the year. The rest of the time it is sunny. It can get brutally hot in the summer, but any time before noon is just balmy or if you are a morning person, you can have a cool ride as the sun comes up. Low humidity most of the year. In the winter there are still plenty of days you can ride with just long tights and a windbreaker on. Add to that the American River Bicycle trail where you can ride a round trip of 62 miles without having to cross a road, except for entrances to parks along the river where there is little traffic and what there is, they watch out for cyclists.
It's a very, very nice ride to see the city over the trees in a few spots only, otherwise you could imagine you are in a wildneress except the trail is smoothly paved with a line down the middle and other cyclists you see. In the summer you have a lot of traffic on the trail, everything from cat 1 to posers to families with little kids on bikes.

Alright!
Having grown up and spent most of my life in New Jersey I remember how good it felt when spring finally started kicking in. Time to go out and ride!

Ahhh springtime...I generally love it except when it can't decide whether to rain or snow, like it has been for the past few weeks - but it is usually the wind that determines if I will ride or not. Rain isn't really bad if you prepare for it - fenders, h2o proof gloves and a helmet cover to start. Nasty winds on the other hand, are a pain, most of the time...especially when they become more than a strong breeze or is gusty, which is normal for my area of Alaska.
