I wanted to share my deliver date of my new Tetra Pro with the Forum. I ordered my bike on Nov 11th from the Racer's Edge in FL. The bike frame arrived today 7 1/2 weeks later. I thought that was very fast considering the holidays and it was not a standard fram. I live in KY, but work in FL regularly. I wont be able to see my bike for another 11 days, but the count down now begins. Here are the specs for the bike. My goal was to get the most bang for my buck after the frame.
Tetra Pro 60 CM with Head Tube Ext. 2cm (I think) Cobalt Blue No Fade
Now for the goods: Ultegra Components with DA Rear Derailer and Shifters Mavic Pro Series Wheels with Michelin Tires Cane Creek Headset Itm Stem Thomson Seatpost Deda Piega Handlebars Syntace C2 Aero Bars Speedplay x2 pedals (I am too big for titanium) Selle San Marco Aspide Tri Saddle Shimano Flight Deck Computer Polar S720i Heart Rate with Cadence
Let the Critiquing begin. Keep in mind that the goal here was not to buy the best at any cost but to get the most bang for your buck. These choices where made based on my budget and reccomendations from the Racer's Edge. I guess I should also clarify that this bike is built for Triathlon racing. I will be posting pictures as soon as I get a look at it myself. The Speedplay Pedals, Saddle, & Polar Heart Rate monitor are components that I use now and love.

Looks like a great setup. A couple of Qs:
What fork did you get?
Why did you go with the pro instead of the tri? I'm thinking about a Luna Pro for tri's, but wonder if a Thompson seat post is enough to get me comfortably onto the bars.

I selected the Alpha Q EX. Decided to save a little money here. As for the Pro vs Tri. This was a very hard decision for me. I did a lot of research, but in the end I took the recommendation of the Bike Shop that my build was better suited for Pro Frame. I did get a Headtube extension because I have very long legs that are disproportionate to my arms. I am 6'4" and will compete at somewhere between 210 to 220. In the end I trust the guys at the Racer's Edge. I think my size played a large part in this decision. This will also be my training bike and my only bike at this time. My suggestion is to find a LBS that you trust and they should be able to steer you in the right direction. I hope this helps.

Congradulations on your new bike. I ordered a Luna on November 10th and I am still waiting, No real word on when will it will show up at my LBS. Calfee will not return my phone calls and my LBS is of no help.

alamike: contact Stella at: stella@calfeedesign.com she can answer your question. 8 weeks is about the normal turnaround time for a new Calfee, and you're right about there!

Ditto on Stella. A great gal and we have spoken often. I find Calfee people easy to get. I don't leave messages anywhere. I just call a few times if necessary whether it is Calfee or some other company. Stella is very easy to get hold of however.

I left Stella a phone message on Wednesday. She must be busy. Maybe she or my LBS will get back to me. It probably is no big deal because in North AL it has been cold and rainy for the last week. I just wanted to do some planning because my 'local' Calfee dealer is a two hour drive that ends up killing most of a day off. Thanks for the responses.

I am from Cullman originally. We live in KY now. I am planning to do Powerman AL for my first race this year. Good Luck.
