I am increasingly annoyed that the details I see with my eye look blurry when I put them on the computer with my 3-year old 3.1 mega pixel camera. The cliche is that more pixels just mean more size, not more detail, but my camera really stinks at letting light in and I think other cameras must work better. Rather than spending a lot of time on the camera sites, which correctly showed that my camera was good at taking pictures of flowers in strong sunlight, I thought I'd ask the folks here who would rather ride than learn camera technique but who appreciate a good picture - what camera should I considerthat's as much point and shoot as possible and will capture bike detail?
Thank you.

Email me directly and I'll help you out. There are lots of things to consider when choosing a camera and some can be important, other, merely frivolous bs to benchrace with.

The Canon 2.1 Mpixel PowerShot S110 camera was (no longer available – retail) my selection for a quality point and shoot digital camera : http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_s110-review/ Set it on auto mode and forget it except for close-ups. And, a big plus for bicycle touring is its relativly small size, tank like construction, and ease of use.
Here is one suggestion for research on point and shoot digital cameras: http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/point-and-shoot-digital-cameras-ratings.html
Or go to Google and enter: point and shoot digital camera.
