Just took delivery of a new Tetra Pro. Frame looks very well made. On reviewing the owners instructions and the frame I noticed that the bottom bracket is 1.5 millimeters off-center to the right. Does this have any effect on setup using a standard Campy bottom bracket and crank fore chainline issues? Also, is there any problem with chainsuck with these frames as the instructions mentioned chainsuck and that the frame should be returned if it is a large issue. Thanks

All that is news to me and I have two Calfee's. But then again I never got any books or instructions. Call a few times until you get Dean or Craig. Late Eastern time has always seemed the best for me. Things are just late day out there.

...and you should find several threads on this issue. The common fix is to use a spacer to keep the chainring from hitting the chainstay. Or, some have sent the frame back to have part of the chainstay "ground away" to allow for clearance without the use of a spacer; Calfee insists this does not weaken the area due to the small amount of material that is removed.

Thanks, I wonder why he doesn't just remove the material before he ships it then. I'd hate to have to waste time shipping him the frame and then waiting to get it back.

Chainsuck is a function of your running gear, not your frame. It does become your frames problem if you do suffer chainsuck and it starts grinding through the chainstay. It's great incentive to keep your chain lubed properly, and your running gear in good order.
If you do have chainsuck, and the carbon is frazzled (a technical term), that's when Calfee wants to see it.

Thanks Dave. I guess when I build it this weekend I'll see what the chainline looks like and if everything is ok. I'm assuming that with standard Campy BB, 102mm and crank it should be ok.
