First time doing the Davis Double on a tandem. It was much more fun than on a single. Well built carbon is the perfect material for a long tandem frame and the comfort and rigidity were awesome. Davis is not a hilly course by my standards (comparing to the Chico Wildflower and Terrible Two) so it favored tandem riding. We hit 52.8 MPH on the Hwy. 20 descent before "ressurection Hill". One single rider who caught up with us at the rest stop asked why we didn't have a drag brake. "That would slow us down" was my reply. We actually have one, but reserve it for rides like the grizzly Century with 7,000 ft. descents in 10 miles.
Lots of compliments from the other cyclists on the Calfee tandem; even from other jealous tandem stokers.
