Squeaky Shoes
#6096 - 06/03/05 12:28 PM (68.233.219.25)

My relatively new Sidi shoes that have never been wet or anything else have developed squeaks in the Lorica. They are the black all Lorica model. It has nothing to do with the bike. If I twist my foot off the bike you can hear it and even if you just twist the shoe in your hand.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

My SIDI shoes, all 3 pair, don't squeek at all.

Lorica is a synthetic material. You might try a little silicone spray in a few areas, That might calm them down.

A very "sage" idea...

My other Sidi's have never done it either and most have been soaked through time and again. Tis strange. A fellow over on Serotta said he had the same trouble with the same model shoe.

Hey Lon,

My three pairs of sidis don't squeak either, but I'll bet you that its the footbeds/insoles rubbing on something in the shoe. Take out the footbeds, put the shoes back on, and see if the noise goes away. I have had a number of squeaky shoe issues in the past, although not with cycling shoes, and it always ended up being the footbeds/insoles.

The solution usually involves trimming, lubing, or sanding sanding the bottom of the insoles.

Good luck, There's nothing as annoying as noisy footwear

Mike

Thanks. I will try that.
