I have a Luna Pro and must replace my current seatpost. I didn't buy my Calfee new so the post she came with is 25mm and uses a shim for proper fit.
I would like to buy a larger post this time around and checked the site for the spec. I noticed it said the "27.2mm seatpost size is most common". I measured my current post + shim at just a tad under 27.2mm. The frame opening measures just above 26.8. I tried a cheap 27.2 post and found it pretty difficult to insert beyond about 80mm.
So my question is - If you were in my position, would you go with a 27.2 or a 26.8?
I thought I would post here and ask before I bothered the folks at Calfee.

The current spec is 27.2,and that is what fits mine.If you have an accurate way to measure the post you have and it is 27.1 or 27.2 and fits too tight,I would put a 27.0 in.A 26.8 will be too small.
I would not have the seat tube reamed at a LBS,because it may have a fiberglass insert in it,like the current ones do.
American Classic makes a 27.0,and I'm sure others do too.

One of the best mechanics I ever met was convinced my Fly had a 26.8 seat tube because the 27.2 post would not go in easily. Craig said keep pushing. It never slips! You could drop him an e-mail or call. Your serial number is on the right dropout. Have that and they can tell you.

I called Calfee with the same question early his year concerning my Tetra Pro. They told me it was spec'ed for 27.2 with very tight tolerance. I really had to struggle to get the 27.2 Thomson in, but once it was set up properly, it has never moved!
Just to emphasize what the poster said earlier... DON'T get it reamed. It is a fiberglass insert. No reaming and no grease. Just push hard.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will fire off an email to the folks at Calfee with my SN just to double check the correct size.
If it is a 27.2 it will be a verrrry tight fit.
