Hi y'all. Long time lurker, first-time post-er.
Short story is I've got a bead on a 2000-2001 Hampsten Cinghiale Pro (made by Moots). The frame is old enough that I don't know much about it -- just wanted to pick the collective BFC brain and see if anyone had anything constructive to say about this frame -- i.e. differences in construction, geometry from current Titanio or Vamoots. Radical changes in the lineup between here and there, massive unrepenting flexiness, etc.
I'd send a quick note to Hampsten Towers, but since there isn't exactly a financial upside for the brothers H, I'm loath to do that unless I've got a specific question.
For the curious, here's a photo (click for a much larger, offsite version):
Thanks much.

You might try posing this question to the board on the Moots site.I would also e mail the Hampstens. I have seen Steve post to several boards, and from what I have read, he is a stand up guy and would give you the info you need. I think it's a rebadged Moots, and that's a very good thing ...if it fits you. As for the flexiness, what do you weigh? I doubt flex will be a problem. They are a very nice riding bike. I will never part with mine. Good luck and let us know your decision.

Ah yes, the Moots list. Well, can't hurt to try.
I'm a pretty lightweight guy (5-11, 150) (though according to RoadBikeRider I've got to drop 5 more lbs to become an 'optimal climber' -- yeah, right). I'm not really worried about flexiness, I just pulled that out of the hat as a problem that some ti frames have been accused of.
It's definitely a rebadged Moots. I'll try the Moots boards.
I might try the Hampstens, though I'll admit I don't have any specific questions. Just a general which makes me sheepish.
Thanks for the info.

Provide them with the serial number and I'm sure they would tell you all about the bike.

That makes so much sense, don't know why I didn't think of it.
Let's see if I can get the S/N from the seller...

Well, to complete the story I got cut off by a friend of the seller. Oh well, I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing.
Time to start saving my pennies, I guess ...
Thanks for all the help.
