Saw my first Calfee new
#6407 - 08/02/05 07:37 PM (66.151.252.231)

(Maybe I've seen others, but I don't remember)

It was during a 100K rally on Saturday.
It was a Tetra. Totally pimped out. Nude or clear finish it was. You should have seen the guy's face light up when I noticed it, and asked to touch it. He was, I think, almost at a loss for words when he started to describe how much better it was than his last bike, a Litespeed -- like my trailer bike .

I really, really wish I hadn't seen it up close.
Wow.

Everytime I clean up my nude Luna Pro I think to myself, "Damn, this is one sexy bike". Believe it or not, they ride even better than they look!

That wasn't you I spoke to at the Goathead 100 last weekend, was it, and me mistaken by the Tetra/Luna name? I'm in Flower Mound, work in Irving.

Nope, wasn't me. I have only seen one other Calfee around the Dallas metroplex in the last few years. I'm sure there are more, but I just haven't met up with any.

I'll be at the "Tour De Pants" this weekend though if you would like to check out my Luna.

Not meaning to thread hijack, but are there any other Dallas area Calfee fans out there?

The are all south of Dallas down here in San Antonio. Every time I go out I see another Calfee rider with that big grin on.

Even saw a recumbent on the Shiner ride.

Hey. Glad you were impressed. I am the proud, relatively new owner of a Calfee (Dragonfly). If you are one that does not want to buy a new bike w/ each passing fad, Calfee, IMO, is the way to go. W/ the classic look of the frame, I believe it will age much better than most other modern frames. And while the cost of admission can be rather steep, the bike can be repaired should something unfortunate happen. Something that cannot be said for my old Trek OCLV.

Oh, and the ride...

Greetings from Longview, TX
