FWIW, anti-lock brakes on newer cars have made accident investigations much more difficult. Investigators used to be able to measure skid marks from braking and data such as road surface, vehicle weight... to calculate speed. This may be moot or very important if the police are suggesting that you never stepped on the brakes when in fact you may have.
Ask your Doc about a bone stimulator. From what I've read and my friend experienced, they can reduce your recovery time by a significant amount.
Anyhow, I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you get back out on the bike soon.

Also see if you can do some reading about what nutrients will stimulate bone growth. Don't worry so much about your weight, make sure you eat enough. You can lean out when you get back on the bike. I've been through two recoveries like this, you can get back, just focus and take it one day at a time.
