I'm posting this just to get some more "stuff" on the Seven forum and hopefully encourage other Seven owners to post tidbits about their bikes.
I've been an Axiom owner for about a year now. My previous bike (which I still own) is a Merlin Extralight which I put a lot of miles on (including one PAC Tour). At 155 lbs, I came to Seven looking for a more comfortable ride than my XL for long distances. After receiving my frame and about 6 months of dialing in (primarily saddle height, stem length, and bar height) I feel extremely comfortable and the bike is excellent especially over rough roads. The build quality is very similar to my Merlin.
In what is becoming a sea of look-alike titanium frames, I have decided to add some personality to it by painting it. The front end of the bike including the stem and fork will be a celeste/aqua green pearl (look at the color of the official Seven team socks on their website). The rear end of the bike (excluding 80% of the chainstays and seatstays which will remain bare brushed Ti) will be dark metallic pine which is a close match to the deep green on the Seven vest and wool jersey. The break between the light and dark color will take place about 75% back along the top and down tubes. The break between the colors will be bare Ti (that will be clear coated with the paint). We looked closely at the Seven decal options (which I believe are HIDEOUS) and decided to apply a stencil of the plain Seven logo, paint over it, and then remove it for a bare Ti logo. I have seen this on several Spectrum frames and it looks beautiful. Lastly, my name will be stenciled like the logo on the top tube for a final bare Ti effect.
I'll post some pictures when the project is completed.
Bob Seven/Spectrum/Merlin/Moots fan - It IS about the bike.

Who's doing the painting, Bob? Seven? My Odonata was painted by Joe Bell, mostly pearl white with the celeste "old" Seven decals, very understated and beautiful. Bike is a fantastic ride, as good as any I have owned.
Please post pictures when you get the bike back!

Bob,
I had my Alta painted in Liquid Copper to match my Infiniti 04 FX45. I had it painted by Seven with most of the seat tube, down tube and half of the seat stays but left the chain stays bare. It came out perfect and it gives the Ti a different look which I left matte. Good luck on your project.

When I fantisize about my next Seven (I own an Axiom Steel), the idea of a partial-paint Axiom Ti is high on my list. I'm partial to both the light green (" Mint ") and light blue (" Sky Blue ") shown as standard Seven colors. I'd keep the chainstays and part of the seatstays unpainted.
Axiombob, I'll be curious to see how the 2 colors you've selected blend. Who's doing the paint?

The fella doing the paint on my Axiom is Danny Green and his company is Creative Cycle Works in New Orleans. Danny is a helicopter mechanic for CHEVRON and he does bike paint jobs as a hobby/sideline. His work is excellent and he also does some custom motorcycle paint jobs.
We used the Seven socks as the paint model for the light color and the Seven wind vest as the paint model for the dark color. When I hold them the together, it looks great. Hopefully I'll have the bike back in 2-3 weeks.
I'll post pics then.
