Does anyone use the Calfee bar/stem combination on their bike - What are your thoughts on it? Is it worth the money? Any problems with it?

. It is lighter than a standard combo; basically it has all the advantages, and non of the disadvantages of a carbon bar setup. The only problem is that once it is setup, you can't change the angle of the bars or flip the stem. The deal breaker for me is I don't like the look of the alloy piece on the stem, where it wraps around the fork. Not so sexy. Oh, and it costs a bit more than a standard setup, but not a ton of money more.

I use the Zipp Bar/Stem combo. They also review that. It totally rocks. No flex at all and a great pairing with a Calfee bike - because the frame already kills so much buzz, and the bars damp anything that's left, yet neither flexs. Perfect.

I agree that the stem is not the best looking out there but other than that I love mine. Very comfy bar and the whole setup is bulletproof. Just make sure you are happy with the bar position before you have Calfee bond it up. Not sure if it is worth the $$ as that is a personal choice, it was for me.

The current issue of Bike also has a positive review of the Calfee bar/stem combo, for mtb off-road enjoyment.
