I saw one of these beauties at my LBS tonight and it was soooooo nice looking! Do any of you folks own one or have any of you ridden one? If so, please give me your impressions. I have a weakness for nice lugged steel bikes and although I really DO NOT need another road bike I would love to buy one of these to add to my stable, but its a tough decision to make at this time.

Sure thing. I have an orange one, the new ones are going to be blue...so if you want an orange one, get it now!!! There are no more!
The ride is easy and smooth. Long chainstays (LONG), low bb, and the quality of the build is incomparable for the price. Even a real headbadge. The paint around the lugs is not JB but who is? I have had mine set up three ways: with Superbe Pro dt shifters, Chorus Ergo 9, and now with Simplex/Huret. I've enjoyed it all three ways and think that this is one of the few modern classics that seems to look "right" no matter how it is built (old or new). But the ride is "classic Rivendell": smooth, easy going, good at everything. It takes "long reach" calipers, btw, and this is an important thing to note (but no big deal as Shimano has at least two offerings).

I just saw an orange Rambo at the Rivendell shop this morning - the owner had only had it for a short time when he hit a deer on a steep descent (South Park Drive for those that know Berkeley - easily a 50mph hill in good conditions). The frame buckled up at the down tube and top tube, fork was twisted too. The RBW guys gave him a good deal on a replacement bike but his collar bone is broken... no word on the deer.

Thanks for the input. It looks like I am going to order a frame later today,as long as they still have my size in the orange color.

Jump on that sucker. I've had an Atlantis (slightly stouter "all-round" version of the Rambo) for three years, and I love it. I've used it for everything from fire trails to centuries with only tire changes, and it's just about perfect. And Rivendell has been great to deal with in every situation.
